6 Days in Singapore

We spent 6 amazing days in Singapore.

Our flights included a long layover in Delhi. Since I had traveled extensively in India before, I was happy to take advantage of the extra time and explore Delhi. I joined two guided tours there, more details can be found in my India blog post.

Where We Stayed

We divided our stay between three different areas of the city.

PARKROYAL COLLECTION Pickering

Located in Chinatown, this hotel is absolutely stunning. 🤩

The hotel is eco-friendly, filled with lush greenery, and features a unique architectural design. 🥰 We spent two wonderful days enjoying its spectacular swimming pool and relaxing atmosphere.

The location is excellent, just a 5-minute walk from the MRT station, making it very convenient for exploring the city.

Marina Bay Sands

We spent one night at Marina Bay Sands 😍 to celebrate my birthday, and it was absolutely perfect!

We arrived at the hotel in the early afternoon and had lunch at the incredible KOMA restaurant, located inside the hotel’s shopping mall. Afterward, we visited the observation deck, which is complimentary for hotel guests, and then headed to the breathtaking infinity pool. 👌🏻 We stayed there until sunset.

At 9 PM, we went down to watch the spectacular light show located outside the mall (between Swarovski and Apple). After the show, we returned to the hotel and spent the evening at the CÉ LA VI rooftop bar.

As a fun bonus, we met J Balvin there, he was very friendly and even took a photo with me! 😁

Everything about this stay was simply perfect.

The next morning, we spent a few more hours at the pool before checking out. We left our luggage at the hotel and continued exploring the area. We visited the ArtScience Museum, located next to the mall, and then walked about 15 minutes to Gardens by the Bay.

In the evening, after watching the light show, we returned to collect our bags and moved to our next hotel.

YOTEL Singapore Orchard Road

Located on Orchard Road, Singapore’s famous shopping district.

The location is excellent, only a 5-minute walk from the MRT station.

One of the hotel’s most unique features is its two service robots that deliver room-service items directly to your door. If you need bottled water, towels, or other essentials, simply call reception by dialing #30, and a robot will bring them to your room. The robots are adorable, and they even sing! 😍

The room itself is compact but modern and very clean. The bathroom is spacious, and the room includes everything you need for a comfortable stay.

Food & Entertainment Recommendations

KOMA

An absolutely incredible Japanese restaurant located inside The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands. The design is breathtaking, and the food is outstanding! 😋 Definitely one of our favorite dining experiences in Singapore.

CAFE KREAMS

Located in the Chinatown area, this beautiful café is decorated with stunning autumn-leaf-inspired décor. Their cakes are amazing! 🤤 We tried the crepe cake and tiramisu, and both were delicious. 😋

The Wizard’s Brew

A Harry Potter-themed bar with a magical atmosphere. They serve creative cocktails featuring fire effects, delicious snacks, and beautifully designed desserts. Beyond the unique décor and presentation, everything we ordered was genuinely tasty! 😋

Level Up – Arcade & Live Music Bar

Located in the lively Clarke Quay entertainment district, this is a fantastic spot for a fun night out. The bar features live performances, retro arcade games, food, and drinks. We ordered pizza and beers, and everything was great. A perfect place to spend an evening!

CÉ LA VI

More of a rooftop bar experience than a restaurant, located on top of Marina Bay Sands. Great cocktails, light bites, and an amazing atmosphere with incredible views over the city. There’s also a club section, and when we visited, ladies enjoyed complimentary drinks. 👌🏻

Smile Dessert

A dessert café serving some of the best Japanese pancakes I’ve ever had. 🤤 Honestly, they were even fluffier and tastier than the ones I tried in Japan! The fun part is that guests sit inside giant ball pits while enjoying their desserts. 😁 We visited the branch in Funan Mall, but there are several locations around Singapore.

Flipper’s Takashimaya

Another excellent spot for Japanese soufflé pancakes. Light, fluffy, and delicious. 😋 They have multiple branches throughout Singapore.

Ice Cream Sandwich Stalls on Orchard Road

A surprisingly delicious local treat! You’ll find vendors selling colorful ice cream sandwiches along Orchard Road. Definitely worth trying. 😋

Big Big Fries

Famous for their giant fries served with a variety of tasty dipping sauces. Located in one of the malls on Orchard Road.

Co+Nut+Ink

If you love coconut, you’ll love this place. 😋 Their coconut ice cream is refreshing and delicious. We visited the Sentosa branch, but they have other locations as well.

The French American Bakery

Located on Haji Lane, this bakery serves delicious pastries and hot chocolate topped with marshmallows. Everything was great, although definitely on the sweeter side!

Places to Visit

Marina Bay Sands Area

One of the highlights of Singapore. Between the iconic hotel, observation deck, infinity pool, luxury shopping mall, and spectacular evening light shows, there’s plenty to enjoy. 🤩

Gardens by the Bay

One of Singapore’s must-visit attractions.

We visited both the Cloud Forest and the Flower Dome, and both were absolutely beautiful. We also walked along the OCBC Skyway around sunset, which offered stunning views. 😍

The nightly Garden Rhapsody light show is simply magical and not to be missed. 🤩

ArtScience Museum

Located next to Marina Bay Sands. We visited the famous teamLab exhibition, which was very enjoyable. I had previously visited their exhibition in Tokyo, which is larger, but this one was still well worth seeing.

Museum of Ice Cream

A fun and colorful attraction filled with photo opportunities and, of course, plenty of ice cream tastings. 😋

Jewel Changi Airport

The spectacular indoor waterfall at Changi Airport is a destination in itself. It opens at 11:00 AM, and in the evening it becomes even more impressive with lights and music.

We visited both when we arrived in the morning and again before our evening flight home, catching the 9 PM light show. Absolutely stunning! 🤩

Henderson Waves

A unique wooden bridge designed in the shape of waves, suspended above the forest canopy. The views are beautiful, especially around sunset. We arrived before sunset and stayed until after dark.

Haji Lane & Arab Street

Two charming and colorful neighborhoods perfect for wandering around. The streets are filled with cafés, boutiques, street art, and beautiful architecture, including the iconic Sultan Mosque.

Chinatown

We spent time exploring the picturesque streets and visited the magnificent Buddha Tooth Relic Temple. We happened to arrive during a prayer ceremony, which made the experience especially memorable and impressive.

Fort Canning Park

A lovely park near Orchard Road. One of its most famous photo spots is the staircase viewpoint surrounded by lush greenery, which makes for beautiful photos.

Merlion Park

Home to Singapore’s iconic Merlion statue. Located along the waterfront directly opposite Marina Bay Sands, it offers fantastic views of the skyline and hotel.

Sentosa Island

We reached Sentosa by taking the MRT to VivoCity Mall, where we transferred to the Sentosa Express train.

The train has three main stops:

Attractions and theme parks
Adventure attractions
Beaches

Pay close attention to which station you need, as many areas are not connected by direct walking routes.

When we first arrived, we got off at the wrong station because Google Maps showed only a 15-minute walk to the beach. Unfortunately, several attractions block the route, making it impossible to walk directly there. Save yourself some time and get off at the correct station!

You only pay once when entering Sentosa from VivoCity. All rides between stations and the return trip are included.

Beaches

We visited both Siloso Beach and Palawan Beach, with Palawan being our favorite. Both beaches were clean, relaxing, and enjoyable.

There are plenty of restaurants and food stalls around the beach area, making it easy to spend an entire day there.

Wings of Time

An incredible outdoor light, water, and laser show located near Siloso Beach. One of the best evening attractions on the island and highly recommended.

We purchased our tickets through Klook.

SkyHelix Sentosa

Located at the second station, just before the beach stop.

This attraction slowly lifts guests high above the island in rotating open-air seats, offering panoramic views in every direction. It’s a unique and relaxing way to admire Sentosa from above.

I absolutely loved the atmosphere on Sentosa. It’s packed with attractions, beautiful beaches, restaurants, and entertainment options.

VivoCity Mall is also worth visiting, with a huge selection of international brands and a great food court where we enjoyed several delicious meals.

Getting Around Singapore

We used the MRT exclusively throughout our trip, and it’s honestly one of the best metro systems I’ve ever experienced.

It’s clean, air-conditioned, easy to navigate, highly accessible, and incredibly efficient. Payment is simple, you can use your credit card directly at the station gates when entering and exiting.

Internet & SIM Cards

Unfortunately, Airalo was not working in Singapore during our visit. Based on recommendations, I purchased a local SIM card from 7-Eleven. During the initial setup, I forgot to scan my passport, and later I couldn’t complete the registration process.

In the end, I never managed to activate the SIM card and relied mostly on public Wi-Fi throughout the city.

Final Thoughts

I completely fell in love with beautiful Singapore! 😍

To me, it feels like a fascinating blend of Dubai’s luxury, Japan’s atmosphere and efficiency, a touch of Thailand’s tropical charm, and a unique character all its own.

Singapore is clean, modern, safe, easy to navigate, and full of incredible attractions, food, and experiences.

I already know I’ll be back someday.

Enjoy your trip! 😁
