Three days in Cancun – A Relaxing and Fun Ending to a South America Trip 🌴💦

We spent 3 days in Cancun, Mexico as a final stop on our South America trip, and it was the perfect mix of relaxation, adventure, good food, and great nightlife.

Where We Stayed

Temptation Cancun Resort

We stayed at Temptation Cancun Resort, an adults-only all-inclusive hotel with a bold and unique design by Karim Rashid.

The atmosphere is open, fun, and playful:

All-inclusive restaurants with very good food
Pools, jacuzzis, and a small private beach with stunning turquoise water 💦
Shows, themed parties, and daily activities
Adults-only concept with a relaxed “topless-optional” policy in parts of the hotel
Excellent service throughout the stay

It felt like a completely different kind of vacation experience, lively, social, and full of energy.

Things to Do in Cancun

Chichen Itza, Valladolid & Cenote Chichikan Tour – Link

This was one of the best day trips we did in Mexico.

The tour included:

A visit to a beautiful cenote with a traditional Mayan welcome ceremony
Swimming in crystal-clear natural waters inside a cave-like setting
Tequila tasting with different flavors
Lunch included on-site
Guided visit to Chichén Itzá, one of the New Seven Wonders of the World and one of the most important Mayan archaeological sites
Stop in the colorful town of Valladolid, including dessert and free time to explore

It was a full, well-organized day with great guides and a lot of variety.

Speedboat & Snorkeling Experience 🚤🐠

This was a super fun and active tour.

The experience included:

A fun (and slightly funny) Mayan-style welcome ceremony
Driving your own speedboat in a guided convoy
Stops for snorkeling at a coral reef with lots of marine life
A relaxed return ride back to the base
Dessert served at the end of the tour

It was exciting, interactive, and a great mix of adventure and ocean time.

Coco Bongo 🎭🍹

A must-do nightlife experience in Cancun.

Coco Bongo is not a regular club, it’s a full show:

Acrobatics, live performances, dancers, and visual effects
Music and dancing between performances
Open bar included with many ticket options

The energy was amazing and the show was truly impressive. One of the highlights of Cancun nightlife.

Transportation & Internet

We used Uber for all transportation in Cancun, which was convenient and easy.

For internet, we used a Trip.com eSIM throughout the trip, which worked well across multiple countries – link

Final Thoughts

Cancun was the perfect ending to our South America journey.

It combined:

Beautiful Caribbean beaches 💦
Fun and lively hotel experience
Amazing day trips and cultural sites
Great nightlife and entertainment
Lots of tequila and good vibes

A very different pace from the rest of the trip, but exactly what we needed to finish it in style.
