About a 1-hour taxi ride from the airport to the hotel – around $20.
The driver we had was really friendly. He also works as a tuk-tuk driver, and we ended up spending the day with him touring the temples.

Our hotel in Siem Reap
Shinta Mani Angkor
A stunning hotel with outstanding service. Everything was perfect, highly recommended 👌🏻
Things to do 👇🏻
A day trip to the temples of Angkor Wat.
We arranged with the driver who picked us up from the airport. He collected us in his tuk-tuk at 12:00 and stayed with us until sunset. We paid him $20 for the day.
Entrance tickets to the temples can be purchased on the official website or at the ticket machines at the entrance to the complex.
There are one-day and three-day passes available; we chose the one-day option.
The driver took us between the different temple complexes, and we explored the impressive ancient ruins on our own.
A magical and unique place, we were amazed by the architecture and scale. 🥰
Dinner with a show
Apsara
After exploring the temples, our driver brought us to a traditional show with a buffet dinner. It was a pleasant way to end the day.
The driver booked a table for us at the restaurant, and we paid there directly. You can also make a reservation on your own. He charged an additional $10 for waiting for us and driving us back to the hotel. When we left the restaurant, there were plenty of tuk-tuks outside, we could have taken another one, with rides usually costing around $2–$4.
Lotus Farm Tour 🪷
It was absolutely beautiful 😍
At the beginning of the tour, we received interesting explanations about the lotus flower. We then took a boat ride on the lake, where the woman guiding the boat surprised us by making different products from the lotus as we went along 🥰
To end the tour, we enjoyed lotus tea.
The place is run as an organization that employs only local women and supports their personal and professional development.
Floating Village Tour in Kampong Phluk
During the dry season, there is no water in the villages, but it was still fascinating to see their way of life, and the explanations were very interesting. At sunset, we had dinner at a floating restaurant.
The tour is highly recommended, and the guide was excellent.
Phare Circus
It was excellent 👌🏻 They perform acrobatic stunts combined with theatre and humor. I really enjoyed it 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Night transfer from Siem Reap to Koh Rong (via Sihanoukville). We booked through 12Go.
The journey was comfortable on a sleeper bus, and there are several options available with different companies and departure times.

From Sihanoukville, we took a ferry to Long Set Beach.
We purchased round-trip tickets for $30 per person, while a one-way ticket costs $17.
We bought the tickets at an office located next to the bus stop, and arranged our return ferry through WhatsApp. I also booked minibus tickets to Phnom Penh through the same company.
Their office is just a few minutes’ walk from the ferry terminal, and the service was excellent and highly recommended.
WhatsApp for bookings and inquiries 👇🏻
The ferry stopped at Long Set Beach, which is about a 10-minute drive from the hotel where we stayed. The transfer costs $5 per person.
Stay in Koh Rong
We stayed at The Secret Garden Koh Rong.
An excellent hotel with a stunning beach 😍 and outstanding service. Highly recommended 👌🏻
During our stay, we took an island tour that included the mangrove boardwalk, beautiful beaches such as Long Beach, Long Set Beach, and Koh Touch, as well as visits to local villages. It was a lovely trip, which we booked through the hotel for $40 for a four-hour tour.
We spent the rest of our time in Koh Rong relaxing at the hotel, enjoying the pool, the beach, sunbathing, the restaurant, complimentary kayaks, and refreshing fruit shakes. It was absolutely perfect 🥰
Cambodia is an amazing destination, with impressive temples, a fascinating culture, and some of the friendliest people I’ve ever met. I truly fell in love with both the country and the wonderful Cambodian people 😍
It was an incredible trip from start to finish 👌🏻
