3 Days in Beautiful and Lively Bucharest 🇷🇴✨

Bucharest completely surprised me.

The city has a wonderful mix of historic charm, vibrant nightlife, beautiful architecture, relaxing spa experiences, and delicious local food. It felt lively, welcoming, and full of energy.

We spent three fantastic days exploring Romania’s capital and had an amazing time. 😁

Where We Stayed

Moxy Bucharest Old Town

A charming boutique hotel with a fun, modern design and an excellent location right in the heart of Bucharest’s Old Town.

It was the perfect base for exploring the city on foot, with restaurants, cafés, and major attractions just steps away.

Things to See & Do

Therme Bucharest 😎

One of the highlights of our trip.

This enormous indoor wellness complex features:

Thermal pools
Jacuzzis
Multiple saunas
Relaxation areas
Tropical-style gardens

The design is beautiful, the atmosphere is incredibly relaxing, and it’s the perfect place to spend a spa day. 👌🏻

We purchased tickets that included access to all sections of the complex, which I highly recommend.

Located near the airport, it’s also a great option if you’d like to visit shortly after arriving in Bucharest or before your flight home.

Day Trip to Sinaia, Bran & Brașov 🏰

One of the best days of the trip.

We joined a guided day tour that included:

Peleș Castle
Bran Castle
The historic center of Brașov

Our guide was funny and entertaining, which made the day even more enjoyable.

The castles were beautiful, the scenery along the route was breathtaking, and the snow-covered landscapes made everything feel magical.

Highly recommended. 👌🏻

Exploring Bucharest Old Town

The historic center is filled with beautiful streets, classic architecture, lively cafés, restaurants, and shops.

Some of the most famous spots include:

The Umbrellas’ Street
Cărturești Carusel – one of the most beautiful bookstores in Europe
Macca-Villacrosse Passage

The entire area is perfect for wandering around, taking photos, and soaking up the city’s atmosphere.

Restaurants & Cafés 😋

Caru’ cu Bere

An absolutely stunning restaurant. 🥰

The Gothic-style interior is spectacular, and the atmosphere is lively and festive.

During our visit there were traditional dance performances, live entertainment, and delicious Romanian food. 🤤🤤🤤

The service was excellent, the food was fantastic, and the entire experience was perfect. 👌🏻

Restaurant Vatra

A wonderful restaurant serving traditional Romanian cuisine.

The décor reflects local culture and traditions, and dancers perform between the tables throughout the evening.

The food was delicious, the staff were lovely, and the atmosphere was fantastic. 😍

Grand Café Van Gogh

A charming café inspired by the famous painter Vincent van Gogh.

The walls are covered with artwork and colorful murals inspired by Van Gogh’s style.

We stopped for dessert, which was delicious, and the décor alone makes the café worth visiting. 🤩

Final Thoughts

I really enjoyed Bucharest.

The city offers a wonderful combination of:

Beautiful architecture
Relaxing spa experiences
Historic streets
Great restaurants
Friendly atmosphere
Easy day trips to castles and mountain towns

Whether you’re looking for culture, relaxation, history, or great food, Bucharest has something to offer.

It was a fun, memorable getaway, and I’d happily return again.
