Three Magical Days in Marrakech 🥰✨

Marrakech is one of those cities that feels like stepping into another world.

A mix of colors, scents, sounds, history, and vibrant street life makes every corner feel alive. We spent 3 amazing days here and absolutely loved the atmosphere, the food, and the experiences. 🌿

Where We Stayed

Riad Nelia

A beautiful traditional riad located in an excellent spot in the Medina, just about an 8-minute walk from Jemaa el-Fnaa.

The riad has a warm and welcoming atmosphere, with beautifully designed interiors and a peaceful rooftop where breakfast is served.

Breakfast on the rooftop was a highlight, fresh, delicious, and the perfect way to start the day while overlooking the city.

The staff were incredibly kind and made us feel right at home.

Airport Transfer ✈️

At Marrakech airport, taxis are organized at official counters outside the terminal on the right side.

Prices are fixed and paid in advance at the counter.

We paid around 85 MAD, and the driver dropped us a few minutes’ walk from the riad, since cars cannot enter the narrow alleys of the Medina.

Practical Tips

We used Airalo for internet (~$8 per GB)
Google Maps worked well for navigating the Medina streets
We visited about 10 days after the earthquake, and while a few buildings were affected, everything was functioning normally and the trip was not impacted

🌌 Agafay Desert Dinner Experience

We booked a sunset desert dinner through GetYourGuide:

We were picked up by minibus from a nearby meeting point and drove about 30 minutes into the desert.

On the way, we stopped at an argan oil workshop and enjoyed sunset photo stops.

The final location was a beautifully set desert camp with dinner, music, and performances under the stars.

A truly magical evening. 🔥✨

🌊 Ouzoud Waterfalls

A full-day nature trip we booked through Klook.

After a 3-hour scenic drive with a stop along the way, we arrived at the waterfalls and met our local guide.

The experience included:

A boat ride near the falls
A scenic hike down and up the valley
Friendly wild monkeys along the path 🐒
Lunch at a restaurant overlooking the waterfall

A beautiful and refreshing day surrounded by nature. Highly recommended 👌🏻

🎈 Hot Air Balloon at Sunrise

One of the most unforgettable experiences of the trip.

We booked a sunrise balloon flight through Viator with Atlas Montgolfière.

We were picked up early in the morning and driven about 30 minutes to the launch site.

The flight over the desert landscapes at sunrise was absolutely breathtaking 🤩🔥

After landing, we enjoyed a lovely traditional breakfast at their base camp.

A truly once-in-a-lifetime experience.

Dardar Rooftop

A rooftop restaurant with stunning sunset views.

Great music, lively atmosphere, and delicious food.

We had vegetarian pastilla and refreshing drinks, everything was excellent.

Kabana Marrakech

A stylish rooftop restaurant with a modern vibe.

Beautiful design, varied menu, and prices similar to home.

We had sushi and enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere overlooking the city.

Mazel Marrakech

A casual and friendly spot serving generous portions of food.

We tried falafel and meat in pita, both were fresh, tasty, and satisfying.

Great service and a relaxed atmosphere.

Things to See & Explore 🏛️

Medina of Marrakech

Wandering through the Medina was one of the best parts of the trip.

Narrow alleys, colorful shops, spices, textiles, and hidden courtyards create an unforgettable atmosphere.

Jemaa el-Fnaa

The heart of Marrakech.

Every evening the square comes alive with street performers, food stalls, musicians, and storytellers.

We tried fresh juices, Moroccan sweets, and just enjoyed the vibrant energy of the place.

Ben Youssef Madrasa

A stunning historical Islamic school.

The architecture, mosaics, and carved details are incredibly beautiful.

A peaceful and impressive place to explore. 😍

Final Thoughts 🌿✨

Marrakech was a magical experience.

It offers an incredible mix of:
